ORDINANCE NO. 2780
ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF 'rHE CITY OF PALO ALTO
Al1ENDING ·rHE BUDGET FOR FISCAL YEAR 1973-74 TO
APPROPRIATE $25 1 725 FOR THE DO~fflTO~ffl BEAUTIFICATION
AND LIGHTING PROJECT (Project 71-80)
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Section 12 of Article
III of the Charter of the City of Palo Alto, the Council did on
June 18, 1973 1 adopt a budget for fiscal year 1973-74J and
WdEREAS, the Council has included in its budget for 1973-74
provisions for the construction of the Downtown Beautification
and Lighting Project (Project 71-80); and
WHEREAS, the Council has provided that a portion of the costs
of the Downtown Beautification and Lighting Project shall be paid
by assessments on the various properties within the boundaries of
the district established by the Council of the City of Palo Alto; and
\'lHEREAS, the Council has provided for procedurAs whereby cer
tain property owners may defer the assessments on their properties,
and ~he sum of such deferrals has been determined to be $25 1 725 ·
which sum is necessary for the completion of the project.
NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto does
ORDAIN as follows:
SECTION 1~ The sum of $25,725 be appropriated in contract
services for the Downtown Beautification and Lighting Project
(Project 71-80) and the unappropriated balance of the Capital
Improvement Fund be correspondingly ·reduced.
SECTION 2~ This ordinance shall become effective immediately
as provided in Section 12 of Article III of the Charter and Sec
tion 2.04~375 of the Palo Alto Municipal Codee
