ORDINANCE No. 2779
ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
AMENDiNG THE BUDGET FOR FISCAL YEAR 197 3-74 TO
PROVIDE ADDITIONAL FUNDS TO THE CHILD CARE PROGRAM
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisio:u1 of Section 12 of Article HI of
the Cha rtcr of the City of Palo Alto the Council did on June 18, 197 3, adopt
a budget for fiscal year 1973-74; and
WHEREAS, the Counci! has included in its budget .for 1973-74 a
progran1 of child care services to meet a demonstrated nee.d in the community;
and
WHEREAS, the Council wishes to enter into a £ifteen-n10nth r~ontract.
for the Child Care Program to have the term of the contract coincide with the
fiscal year:
NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto does ORDAIN
as follows:
SECTION 1. The appropriation for Social Services Administration, Child Care
Program 1 other expense, be increased by $79, 2.l0, The amount of $24, 133
reflects the increase in County revenue sharing already allocated to the Child
Care Program, $21, 38?. reflects an anticipated County revenue sharing allo
cation for the fourth quarter of 1974-75, and $33,695 in City funds to operate
the program for the fourth quarter of 1974-75.
SECTION 2. The additional appropriation of $79,210 \vill be provided for by
increasing department revenue for Social Services Adn~inistration by $45, 515
reflecting all current and anticipated County revenue sharing allocations and
by dec rea sing the unappropriated balance of the Capital I:rnprovement Fund by
$33,695 L"eflecting City funding for the Chilci Care Program for the fourth
quarter of 1974-75.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall become effective immediately as provided
in Section 12 of Article III of the Charter and Section 2. 04. 375 of the Palo
Alt~..> r-.1unicipal Code.
