k~NDING PALO ALTO MUNICIPAL CODE SECTION 10.64.185
TO PROVIDE FOR DISCRETIONARY BICYCLE USE OF BICYCLE
LANES AND PATHS
The Council of the City of Palo Alto does ORDAIN as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 10.64.185 of the Palo Alto Municipal
Code is amended to read:
"10. 64 .18 5 Riding bicycl,es on s_treets. Any person
riding or operating a bicycle upon any street where
a bicycle lane or path appropriate to his direction
of travel is established and officially designated
may ride or operate such bicycle in such bicycle
lane or path or on the sidewalk where othervlise
allowed by the Palo Alto Municipal Code. A 11 street''
is defined as a way or place of whatever natur~
publicly maintained and open to the use of the
public for purposes of travel ...
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall become effective upon the
expiration of thirty days from its passage.
