ORDINANCE OF THE COUNClL OF 'l'HE CITY OF PALO AL'I.'O
APPROVING 'rHE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED
'l'ERRITORY DESIGNATED AS "NEWELL 74-1,11 l\LSO
K~OWN AS "NEWELL 1-74, n TO 'l'HE CITY OF PALO ALTO
WHEREAS, on the third day of January, 1974, the Santa Clara
County Local Agency Formation Corrunission did in session duly
assembled pass and adopt Resolution No. 74-5 approving the
annexation proposal known as "NEWELL 74-1" (and alternatively
described on the documents of said Commission as "NEWELl, 1-74")
to the City of Palo Alto, said resolution describing the bound
aries of the territory proposed to be annexedi and
WHEREAS, said Resolution No. 74-5 did contain a clause
authorizing the City of Palo AH .. o to annex such territory with
out notice and hearing and without election pursuant to Govern
ment Code Section 54797.1; and
WHEREAS, said territory is contiguous to the City of Palo
Alto, and is uninhabited territory in the County of Santa Clara;
NOW, 'I'HEREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto does
ORDAIN as follows:
SECTION 1. The C.mncil does approve the annexation of the
territory hereinafter described to the City of Palo Alto and does
ordain that the said t~rritory be and is hereby annexed to the
City of Palo Alto.
Said territory, the annexation of which to the City of
Palo Alto is herein approved, is all that territory situate in
the County of Santa Clara, State of California, more particularly
described on EXH~BIT A, attached hereto and made a part hereof
by reference as though fully set forth herein, and delineated
on the map attached to EXHIBIT A and made a part hereof.
SECTION 2. The Counci~ hereby finds that the annexation
of said territory will not have a significant effect on the
environment.

SECTION 3. As provided in Section 2.04.375 of the Palo
Alto Municipal Code, this ordinance shall become effective upon
adoption.
