ORDINANCE NO. 2785
ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
AMENDING SECTION 18,08,040 OF THE PALO ALTO MUNICIPAL
CODE 'l'O CHANGE THE ZONING OF CERTAIN PROPERTY KNOWN
AS 2300 EAST BAYSHORE ROAD FROM L-M-D TO P-C, SUBJECT
TO CONDITIONS
The Council of the City of Palo Alto does ORDAIN as fol-
lows:
SECTION 1. Section 18.08,040 of the Palo Alto Municipal
Code, the "Zoning Map," is hereby amended by changing the zoning
of certain property known as 2300 East Bayshore Road from L-M-D
to P-C. Said property i_ shown on a map attached hereto, in-
corporated herein by reference, and entitled "Change of District
of 2300 East Bay shore Road From L-M·-D to P-C ~"
SECTION 2. The diagrams attached hereto entitled 11 Develop-
ment Pla:i 11 are incorporated herein by reference" Said Develop-
ment Plan is approved pursuant to Section 18.68,070 of the Palo
Alto Municipal Code subject to the following conditions:
Ao Use:
Restaurant and cocktail lounge.
B. Improvements:
The building, off-street parking; landscaping,
signs, and other improvements shall b~ sub·
stantially as shown on the approved Development
Plan, except that peripheral landscaping screen
ing shall be increased along the Embarcadero
Road side, along Watson Court, and at the end
of the parking area at East Bayshore Road to
screen parked automobiles,
Exterior lighting shall be substantially equiv
alent to the light level and intensity at Ming's
of Palo Alto, located at Embarcadero Road and
East Bayshore Road. (Measurements will be
taken of the average lighting level in foot
candles prior to the issuance of the use permit.)
Applicant shall add new driveway on Watson Court.

The applicant shall write a letter to the
California Department of Transportation re
questing permission to remove the cyclone
fence on the north property line along
Embarcadero Road and, if such permission is
granted, shall remove said fence.
C. Compliance:
Construction, improvements, and operation of
the restaurant ... cccktail lounge shall comply
with all applicable codes and ordinances and
with the requirements of the Palo Alto City
Engineer and the Chief of the Palo Alto Fire
Department~
SECTION 3. The development schedule for the subject property
shall be as follows:
A. Start of construction within one (1) year of
City Council approval.
B. Completion of all ~onstruction and development
within one (1) year of start of construction.
SECTION 4. The Council finds that this project will have no
significant adverse environmental impact~
SECTION Sc This ordinance shall become effective upon the
expiration of thirty days from its passagee
