ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
AMENDING THE BUDGET FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1973-1974
TO PROVIDE AN ADDITIONAL $36 1 000 IN THE REFUSE
UTILITY FUND FOR LANDFILL PERMIT APPLICATION
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Section 12 of
Article III of the Charter of the City of Palo Alto, the Council
did on June 18, 1973, adopt a budget for the fiscil year 1973-1974;
and
WHEREAS, the City is now required to prepare.an environmental
impact statement and a technical report pursuant to the require
ments for obtaining a permit and discharge standards for the
landfill operations; and
WHEREAS, the costs of these activities are expected to be
$36 1 000 and these costs have not been provided for in the.l973-74
budget:
NOW, 'I'HEREFOH.E, the Council of t.he City of Palo Alto does
ORDAIN as follows:
SECTION 1. The sum of $36,000 is appropriated in the Refuse
Fund, contract services, for the activities associated with the
application for permit for the refuse landfill. The unappropriated
balance of the Capital Improvement Fund should be reduced by
$36,000 to provide for this ~ppropriation.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall become effective iw~ediately
as provided in Section 12 of Article III of the Cb~rte.r and Section
2.04.375 of the Palo Alto Municipal Code.
