EXEClmyE SUMMARY
The City of Palo Alto', Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) has been
recognized by the Govet1llllCll Finance Officers Association of the United Slates and Canada
(GFOA) with the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial RejXJi1lng for the
fiscal year \993-94. Tbe(;ertitkatc of Achievement is the highest awa.-d in government
financial reporting. Only govet1llllCll entities that prescot annual financial reports judged
10 conform 10 exacting program standan1s are presented with a Certificate of Achievement
The ) 993-94 CAFR was !he first annual financial report !hat the City submitted 10 GFOA for
coosiderntion. Receiving Ihls certificate on the first submission is an added achievement, as
it usually takes several submissions 10 meet the high standards set by GFOA.
