The edu1>i! ",ill be located in the Lucy Evans Baylands Nature Interpretive Center. RECOMMENDATIONS Staff recommends that the City Council adopt the attached Bodget Amendment Ordinance accepting Ih, Santa Clara County Historical Commission's grant of $25,000 into the 1995-96 R.ecreation, Open Space and Science> Division's budget. E-~SUMMARY In November 1993, staff from the Recreation, Open Space and Sciences Division awned for a grant from the Santa Clara County His\Drical Commission for $25,000, for design. ronsttuction and ins'.aIlation of an interactive computer exhibit 00 the buman and natural history of the Palo Alto BaylaI!ds. The exhIbit would be installed in the Lu<:y Evans Baylands Nature Interpretive Cenler. The compu1eC exhI1>i1 is Phase Two of a multi-pbase program 10 revitalize the exhIbition program al !he Interpretive Center. Funding in the amount of $25,000 was received from !he Palo Alto Recreation Foundation in 1993 for the completion of Phase One, which included new exhImt panels and pboIngrapbs. an .,,,\erior sculptured ent!)' sign. maps, exhI1>it lighting. printed information and restaining part of !he interior of !be Center. ORDIw.NCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PAW ALTO AMENDING ~m: BUDGET FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1995-96 TO ACCEPT A GRl'.NT FROM THE Slc.NTA CLAAA co;JNTY HISTORICAL HERITAGE COMMISSION FOR T"rlE OPEN SPACE ~>lD SCIENCES PROGRAM WHEREAS~ pursuant to the prov191ons of Section 12 of Article III of the Charter of the City of Palo Alto, the co~~cil on June 15. 1995 did adopt a budge~ fer fiscal year 19;5-96~ and WHEREAS 4 the City submitted a funding proposal to the Santa Clara Cou.."'lty Historical Heritage Com."'llission to provide partial funding fClr a Palo Alto Baylands Historic-al Exhibit at the Palo Alto Lacy Evans Baylands Nature rnterpretive Center; and WHEREAS .. the County Board of Supervisors approved the funding recommend:ition of the Historical Her.itage Commission; and WHEREAS. funds received from. this grant must be spent by April 1996 or tbe funds will revert back to Santa Clara County; and WHEREAS. City Council authorization is needed to expend ~he grant receipt.s. NOW~ THEREFORE~ the Council of tbe City of palo Alto does ORDAIN as follows: SECTIOH 1. The sum of 'l'wenty Five Thousand Dollars ($2S~ 000) is hereby appropciated to non-salary expenses in the Open Space and S.:-ieoces functional area in the Community Services Departmeut., and grant reven-ue is corre.spondingly increased. SECTION 2. This transaction ~ill have no impact on Reserves. SECTIQN 3. As specified in Section 2.28.0aO(a) of the Palo Alto Municipal Code., a two-thirds vote of the City Council is required to adopt this ordinance. SECTION 4. The Council of the City of Palo Alto bereby finds that the enactment of this ordinance is not a project under the .
