BEQUEST
As cutlined in the City's Source Reduction and Recycling Elemenl (SRRE). the City of Pal<>
Alto must recycle inert solids (asphalt, concrete L,d aggregate base) generated within the City
to meet the state mandated recycling goals. The proposed contract ,,;th Ton Bar Equipment
Rental &. Sales Company, Inc. for $66,480, is for services rendered in coonec60n with the
loading, transporting, processing and recycling of inert material wbich has been generated
t!lrougb maintl:nanl:e programs in various departmenls of the City. funds are aVllllable"in the
FY 1995-1996 Refuse Fund operating budget
BECQMMENDATlONS
Staff recommends that Council:
I. Appr"ve and authorize the Mayor to execute the atta<:hed contract with Too Bar
Equipment Rental '" Sales Company, Inc. in the amount of $66,4S0 for the 1995 Inert
Solids Recycling Project
2. Authorize the City Manager 0< her designee to negotiate and execute one 0( more
cbange orders 10 the contract with T ou Bar Equipment Rental '" Sales Company, the
total value of which cbange orders shall not exceed $6,650.

counties to prepare and adopt • S RRE that proposes programs 10 reduce Of recycle 25 percent
of all solid waste CUlIently landfilled by 1995, and SO percent by the year 2000. In FY 93-94,
a progrun was initiakd 10 process the sIoc\;piled conCIete, asphalt and aggregate base material
at the Palo Alto Umdfill into a usable aggregate Co< road construction. In fiscal years 1993-94
