This report requests Ihat Council approve and authorize the Mayor \0 execute a cootract
wit!> Robison-Prezioso, Inc. in the amount of 5219,200.00 for the interioc r"""aling and
exterior repainting of the Monte Bello Reservoir.
RECOMMENDATIONS
Staff =mends lhat Counci!:
I. Authorize the Mayor 10 execute the anached contract with Robison-Prezioso, Inc.
for tbe .interior recoating and exterior repainting 0( the Monte Bello Reservoir.
2. Authorize \he City Manager or ha designee 10 negotiate and execute one or more
change crders 10 1he oontract 10 cover additional related, but unforeseen work
which may develop during the project. The value 0( 1hese change orders shall
DOt exceed $21.900.

oe."ERAL PROJECT DESCRIPTlON
In June 1991, Dahl R~oir was the tint 0( lOur steel wa'.er reservoir> to receive
interi<lr recoating and exterior repainting. Since then. UtIlities Engineering has
(ompleled the Park and Corte M3dera Reservoirs, with Monte Ben" being the last of
the "'" steel reservoirs to reteiv. interior recoating and exterior repainting. The
schedule of completing one resen'oir per fIscal y .... was developed, so cootinuous
po!2ble water service and fire protection could be suppfled to water utility cust<>m<:t'S-
Monte Belk> Reservoir is • U milliO!l gallon, cylindrical, welded steel, above ground
SIrucIure erected in 1964. It is Joo;ted in the Palo Allo foot.hills and is 100 feet in
diameter and 21 feet \all (..<ee attached location map). 1he pr(lj>OSed wo<k will replace
dcleriora!ed in!crlor and exterior coatings with new coatings that meet updated Stale
Department of Health Services code requirements.
Staff will require coasulting services for quality assurance inspection for interior
=outing and exterior repainting of the Mon!e Bello Reservoir. Staff will request
quotations for quallly assurance inspections of the reservoir coating work and implement
a shOO form agreement for these services.
