EXECUJJYESUNUMARY
The roof at Fire Station One is one of six roofs funded b n:placement under CIP 19514. This
is & built-up roofwhich is ~ year.; old and bas reached !he end of its useful life. The expected
life span of this type ofroofis typioalJy 20 1030 years. All related repairs to 1he sheet metal,
roof deck, an<! roof structure WIll be made at this time.
Plans and specifications ,.,ore distributed 10 B contractors and 5 builders' exchanges on June
6.1995. Bids were received from 8 q-.oalified cootractors on June 27, 1995, as listed on the
attached summary (Attachment A). The three ",,,,,k bid period was adequate to ensure
competitive bidding on • project of this relatively uncomplicated nature, as eviden<:ed by the
eight bids which were received.
