The Penni! StreamIiningCustOllle< Working Panel (CWP) ~JIS recommended that theCUlrelll
Archi1eetural Review Board (ARB) and builcfmg permit processes be modified 10 allow
concurrent proce.sing. The current admlnlstrative procedure is 10 not accept • building
permit app!ica!ion until the ARB process is complete. This results in project deiays, in some
cases, 0( bJr 10 six weeks fur the permit applicant.
Staff has investigated the recommendation and finds it 10 be an excellent opportunity 10
significantly reduce the process time foe some projects which require review and approval
0( the ARB. The proposal was presen"'d 10 the ARB on June 15, 1995 and received their
approval, although there is some concern that appficants may place additional pressure 00

process which reviews projects accordinq to standards in PAMC
Chapter 15.48. The ARB process can result in changes to the design
as' submitted.
The undersiqn~ re~ests concurrent processing of the
project's ARB rev~ew and buildinq permit application. The
undersigned acknowledges that revisions resultinq from the ARB
review will require revised working drawings for building perait
review and understol!Ulds that there are potent.ial time delays
associated with revised drawings. In addition to revised drawings
additional plan review tees, if necessary due to additional plan
review, are the responsibility of the applicant.
