budget for fiscal year 1994-95 to ",Oect the .,,·ard of a $7,020 matching grant from the
California Art...s Council OrganiVltional Support Program to the Arts and Culture Division's
V;.:mal Arts Progrz.m.
RECOMMENDATIONS
Staff recommend, that the City Council adopt L~e attached Budget Amendment Ordina",e
accepting the California Arts Council Grant of $7,020 into the 1994·95 Arts and Cultore
Division's Visual Arts Program budget, for th~ e,hibition and educ..tion programs at the
Palo Alto Cultural Center.

EXECUlJYE SljMMARY
TIle California Arts Council has awanled previous grants to the Cultum Center in support
of exhibitions and relale<l arts programming. These funds have been designated for general
operating support in the areas of cultural presentations, publications, and public relations.
TIle aim of the grant funding will he to strengthen the quality and vi<ibility of the exhibition
and education program, •. nd thereby increase the audience for the Visual Arts.
F1SCAL IMPACT
No fiscal impact. The California Arts Council Grant provides matching funds for
exhibitions, equitable artists' al,d l~ture fees, outreach and public relations material" and
workshop/studio supplies and materials. The funds necessary to match the grant have been
budgeted in the Visual Arts Program budget for 1994-95.
