1. Staff recommends that Council "pprove and authorize the Mayor to execute the
attached contract with Califurnia Roofing Co. in the WlCllUlt of $63,644 for
Cubberley Community· Center BuiidinE: L reroofing.
2. Authorize the City Manager or her designee to negotiate and execute one or more
change orden to the contract whh California Roofing Co, thetot:a.1 value of which
change orden "hall not exceed $10,000.

Building L roof is being replaced .as parr. of an ongoing roofing repair and replacement
progr.uIl -at the Cubberley site. 1'hi<; contract will include both the roof replacement and
Add Alternate 1~ new i.nsulation. Roof repairs (Ire being accompllshed according to an
esublished priority over a three rear p.:::riod. Bids were sent to six: contractors and
received from foUI quilified bidders. Staff recommend, the bid submitted by California
Roofmg Co, be determined the lowest responsible bid. The 15 percent contin{!,ency for
potential chotngc orden: !~ recommended, due to the potential for water d<uTIage and
additional repairs which cannot be determined until the old roof is removed.
