EXECUTIYF SUlyIMARY
Bids were sent to seven COJltr2ctors and to fiye local bwld.ers' ochanges. Bids ";Io'ere recetH''\1
from three c~)ntractGrs. The low bidder wilhdrew their bid,. the second low bidder did not
attend the mandatory walk-through, and the tlurd bidder was ~~ percent aboye the
engineer's estima.te. Staff has talked with p~ holders who declined to bid and believes th .. t
by extending the specified compl<tion period, additional bids will be received. Sufi will
retUrn to Council ~tith J. recommendation after completion of the next bid process. Out to
the delay caused by the bid rejection process and the need to rebid this project, .. ·ork .. ·ill
be postponed from fall 1994 to spring 1995, to .ccommodate the holiday "",on and avoid
wet conditions in the gaIJ.ge which adversely affel1 the paint appllL.ation.
