This request from the PAC is an exception to the current graffiti remov.tl policy relating
to public prop.erty.

The PAC." their June 27,1994 meeting, made a request of City .,aif that any graffiti
found on public art not be ~painted over" or removed. This .fequ~'t lS to en..cure that City
an i;; not ;nad;-crtently damaged further. The PAC has requested that my calis for
removal of graffiti on public 3rt be forwarded to the PAC for their action.
Since the graffiti program's inception in Febmary 1994, through August 22,1994,1,119
requests have been receiv<:d through eaher the hotline or from staff. Work orders have
been generated for 805 iOC<ltions, a.il.d the balance of the requests (314) have been
forwarded to outside agetlcies or private property owners. There have been no requests
or work orders reg3rding graffiti on publi.c art.
Staff will continue to comply wilh {h~ PAC request to not abate graffiti on Public Art.
AU such incld~,,\ts will be forwarded to th~_ PAC for disposition.
