This ~eport recommends that the Council approve and authorize the
Mayor to execute the attached one year contract (Attachror,nt A, M'ith
options tor two additional years at the ~ame unit bid price) with
Raymond J. Bragato, Inc. in the amount of $36,750.00 for asphalt
paving services. Funds for the first year of the contract are
available in the IT 94;-95 Gas Capital Improvement program 9udget.
Cont.ract funds for asphalt paving in option y.ears two and three
will be contingent. upon Council' B approval of the Gas Capital
Improvement Program Budget for FY9S-96 and F'i.96-9·!.
Background
Asphalt paving request for bid was aent to four bidders. Three
bids were received and Raymond J. l:i:ragato InC'. was the lowest
bidder for the services requested. The asphalt paving contract is
necessary for restoring asphalt pavement. over mains installed by
in-house construction crews.
Environmental Impact Assesgment
The Council finds that. this project will have no significant
environmental impact.

fedsrally chartered bank In Califomia as the escrow agent, who will then pay those
moneys to the Contractor. Alternatively, th.e Contractor may request and the City
shall p'ay retention earned directly to the escrow agent at the Contractor's expense.
Upol'lthe satisfactory r.ompletion of the consUuction contract, the Contractor shall
receive the .securities and 'w,tertst earned on the investments. The escrow agree
