On Juno 13, 1994, Council .opproved thQ aqrcenont which had been
noqotiated between the City and the San .'ranclsco Bay Area. Wot:'ld
CUp host committee for rairnburGO~9nt of tho costs which tho city
will incur in the provision of PQlice, firo and paramedic serviceB
on the six qa~o days.
The San Francisco Bay Task Force "94 has delJositcd with the City a
chac);: for $J.70 1 198 whidl io the totllol ostinated coet for provision
of the rein-,bursable services speoified in the agreeUlont. The
agreement provides that, in tho tlvent the actual service costs are
less t.han the 81!lOunt deposited, the City shall rOl'Qlt tho difference
to the San Francisco Say Task }"o:tco '94 for its Roccer le9llcy
account. HO'I~'aver, it actual ss:rvlce costs exceed the anount
deposited due to :major unexpectod events as defined in the
agreemont, San Francisco say Tank Force '94 shall pay the
additional costs tollowinq receipt of the City's detailed
accounting of the sorvicos.

TO PROVIDE FOR A RECEIPT OF PAYMENT' FOR EXPBNSES
ASSOCIATED W:tlli WORLD CUP SOCCER
WHEREAS. pursuant to the provisions of Section 12 of Article
III of the Charter of the City of Palo Alto. tho Council all J\lno
21, 1993 did adopt a budget for fiscal year 1993-94~ and
WHEREAS. the City has pursued reimbursement from the San
Fran~isco Bay Task Force '94 for City expenses associated with 1994
World Cup soccer matches a.t Stanford Stadium. at\d
WHER~Sr the San Francisco Bay Task. F"orce '94 .!\nd the C1t~· of
Palo Alto have estimated the costs of Police nnd Fi"re Qvct>titne t.o
be S170,Ha.
NOW, THEREFORB, the Council of the City of Palo Alto. does
ORDAIN as follows:
~.IQtL-..1. A deposit account in the General Fund fo.1-World
Cup Soccer ~s hereby establ ished in the amount of One Hundred
Seventy Thousand One Hundred N.inety Eight Dollars CS170.1!}S).
aE~_.2.. The General Fund Revenue category 'Other Revenue
frorn Other Ag{lncies" will be increased ilt such time as the City
provides the San Francisco Bay Task Force '94 with inform1!.tion
documenting actual expenses for Police~ Fire and paraJl1edic services
related to World Cup Soccer; at the same tim~. the deposi t account
will be reduced by a corresponding amount.

will depend upon the actual amount of reimbursement calculated to
be due froOm the San Francisco Ba.y Task Force '94 for Police and
Fire costs;' This 'may be less than the $170,198 t::urrently
deposited. and to the extent that it is more, the San Francisco Bay
Task Force '94 will be billed.
