This is an informational report and no council action is require~.
An application for a permit to substantially demolish the building
located at 265 Lytton Avenue (Gatehouse) was received on ~runc 15,
1994. This building is designated Category 4 (contributir:g) in the
Historic Inventor.y List and is located in the University Avenue
Business District.
The Historic Preservation Ordinance (Section 16.49.070) requires
Council notification and imposes an automatic 60 day moratorium on
the granting of the demolition permit. The application will bo
reviewed by the Architectural Review Board on July 7, 1994 and tho
Hist<Jric Resources Board -on July 24, 1994. The Boards or any
interested person may rocommend that the CQuncil extend the
moratorium up to 8 maximum of one year.
