This report rE\cornrnends that Council authorize t.ho ctty ~fanager or
hor d~si9nee to execute additional change orders totalling $5,035
to contract No. C3017735 with Landscape West-North, Inc. for the
third year of the Contract.
Funds have boan appropriated in the community Services Department,
Re.creationl Open Space and Sciences Division (Cubberley Community
Cent.or) operatlnq budget tor Fiscal 1994-1995. Funding dolla1's are
cont.ingent upon Council approval of the 1994-1995 Budget.
Discusaion
In Auqust of 1992, council approved three contracts (CMR:382:92)
for landscape maintenance services at various city facilities.
Landscape West-North, Inc. was awarded a $42,568 annual contract
for maintenance, of which $36,328 was for the Cubberley Community
Cont.gr. The initial term of the contract was for twenty-two
months, with an option for an additiorlal twelve 1l'.onths. Total
change order authority for all three contracts was not to exceed
$22,700 1n each twelve month period.
The CUbber-ley COmmunity Center contr.act includes, renovation of two
softball fields and air blowing to clean six tennio courts. During
the 1993-1994 contract year, two new. softball fields were
constructed and Council requested that the tennis courts be washed
since the drought had ended. The $5,035 requested in additional
chango order authority will cover the r~novation of two additional
softball fields ($3,000), 'Washing of the tennis courts twice.
monthly ($1,224) and a negotiated 2 percent increase ($811) for the
third and final year of the contract with Landscape West-north,
