FOR ASSISTANCE WITH PUBLIC PARTICIPATION FUNCTIQNS Members of the Council: AIl additional Comprehensive Plan Advisory Committee 'CP.~C) meeting was held on Saturday, July 24, 1993. in order for CPAC to obtain agreement on a draft Visions. Goals and Issues statement. (This meeting and its associated costs were briefly discussed in CMR:S18~93 of September 3D, 1993.) This all-day meeting, facilitated by Moore, Iacofano and Golt~an (MIG)~ was successful and resulted in CPAC completing its Visionsr Goals and Prelimdnary Issues document on schedule for later Planning Commission and City Council review. However, preparation and participation in this meeting by MIG was not included in the contract the City Council approved with this firm in December 1992. As a result l the attached contract amendment adds the professional services and costs that were required to facilitate this meeting. Total proiessional service costs for this special CPAC meeting amounted to $4,794.09. Because of the urgency of this special CPAC meeting, there was not sUfficieDt time to request Council authorization for this contract amep~t prior to the meeting. However, the City Council liaisons to CPAC were briefed on the need for this meeting and endorsed proceeding with it prior to formal action on the contract amendment. As noted in CMR:518:93, expenses for this additional CPAC meeting are being funded by the City Manager's Contingent Fund. CMR:570:93 • RecorrmendatiQP Staff recommends that Council approve the attached amendment to the MIG contract for this July 24, 1993 CPAC meeting.
