Due to internal timing consideration it was not possible to have the Council conside~· and adopt the CMR:283:94 • reqUired resolution prior to the submittal deadline of April 29. 1994. Therefore, staff completed the application form anq, forwarded the ~pplicatjoh to the BAAO~D, with a letter from the City Manager explaining that the Council resolution ~'o\lld follow during the month of May, 1994. If Council decides that the City sliould not purse AB 434 funding for the AFVDP, staff will notify th~ BAAQMD' and \>Jithdraw the previously submitted application. ~mendatjQn 'rhis report recommends that Council approve the attached l-eeolut 1011 (Attachment 1) authorizing the City Manager to submit all application for AB 434 funding for Alternative Fueled Vehicles Demonstl'ation Pl:oject (AFVDP). and specifying the City Manager or her designate as the person responsible fOl' administering the project. Due to severe time constraints, the required Council resolution authorizing the submittal of our proposal will not be complete by the application deadline. The resolution is now scheduled to go before our city Council on May 9, 1994. Once approved, the resolution will be forwarded to your office. Therefore j on behalf of the City, r respectfully request that this letter be considered in-lieu of the resolution, as required in Section V, page 11 of the application j until such time that the city Council approves the pending resolution. Palo Altols AFVDP project encompasses the conversion of 1CO vehicles of various types and uses. Although this project is large in scope, it only represents 25% of our overall fleet.
