The purpose of this report is to re~uest that the Council adopt the
attached resolution approving angle parking on Waverley street, as
related to implementation of the Bryant Street Bicycle Boulevard
Extension project.

On December 2, 1991, the City Council approved a plan for the
extension of the Bryant Street Bicycle Boulevdrd and directed staft
to proceed with the necessary steps for jmplementation. The
Council approved plan, illustrated in Figure 1, includes a
provision for removing bike lanes and bike related signing on
Waverley Street and converting existing on-street parallel spaces
to angle spaces in the 400 and 500 blacks of Waverley.
Due to extensive utility work along Waverley Street~ changes to
street markings have not been imple1llented. Following completion of
the utility work, Waverley Street from t~barcadero Road to
University Avenue 'Will be r€:surfaced. Restriping Waverley Street,
to include angle parking, ~il1 be included as part of the
resurfacing project. This work is scheduled to be completed by
October 1993.
WAVEJU.EY PARkING
All parkinq restrictions on Waverley Street, from Coleridge Avenue
to Lytton Avenue, that are related to the existing bike lanes ~ill
be removed and full time parking restored. The conversion of
parking spaces fro~ parallel to angle/ as shown on Exhibits A and
B of the attached resolution, will result in 13 additional downtown
parking spaces on Waverley Street, between Lytton and Hamilton

RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OFTHE CITY OF PALO
ON WAVERLEY ALTO APPROVING ANGLE PARKI!>.I--C
STREET
WHEREAS, on December 2, 1991, the City Cou.:lcil approved
changes to Waverley Street as part of the extension of the Bryant
Street Bicycle Boulevard; and
WHBREAS, the changes to Waverley Street included the
conversion of parallel spaces to angl~ spaces; and
WHBREAS. purs~ant to Palo Alto Municipal Code section
lD~36.060. City Council may by resolution designate and describe
any street or portion thereof upon which angle parking may be
permitted.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of palo Alto
does hereby RESOLVE as follows:
SRCTTON l~ The Council hereby designates angle parking
along the east curb of the 4DO black of Waverley Street as
described in Exhibit A, attached hereto and incorporated herein by
reference.
SECTION 2+ The Council hereby deSignates angle parking
along the west curb of the 5.00 block of Waverley Street as
descr~d in Exhibit B, attached hereto and incorporated herein by
reference.
