Report en Brief
This report requests that council approve an extension to Contract
No. 82024783 for Raymond J. Braqato., Inc. for asphalt pavinq
services FY 1993-94 in the amQunt of $28,400.
Background
In september 1991, staff requested quotes for asphalt paving on gas
and water mains replaced and repaired by City operations crews.
Quotes were requested for FY 1991-92, FY 1992-93 and FY 1993-94.
contract exte~sions were to be made based on approved funding tor
&ach fiscal year and the contractor-'s performance during the
previous fiscal year.
A contract with Raymond J. Braqato, Inc. was awarded on August 20,
1991, with the option to renew for the second and third years~ The
contract was not submitted at that time to the City council for
approval for FY 1991-92, since the contract amount was $25,000 or
less and within the city Manager's approved authority. During FY
1991-92, the contractor proved to perform professionally in their
work and staff is satisfi~d with the standard of services
performed.

RacommendatioD
staf~ recommends that Council:
1. Approve and authorize the Mayor to execute the third year
of the contract in the amount ot $28,400.00 for
F'Y 1993-94, and
2. Authorize the City Manaq~r or her desiqnee to negotiate and
e~ecute one or more change orders to the contract with Raymond
J. Braqato the value of which change orders shall not exceed
$2,800.00 for FY 1993-94.
