ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PAI.o ALTO AMENDING THE dUDGET FOR THE FISCAL yEAR 1993-94 TO PROVIDE AN ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION TO SUPpORT THE JOINT VENTURE: SILICON VALLEY NETWORK WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of section 12 of Article 1:1.1. of the Charter of the City of Palo Alto, the councl1 on June 21# 1993 did adopt a budget tor fiscal year 1993-94; and WHEREAS, Joint Venture: Silicon Valley N~t'Wor-)( (JVSV) is a non-profit organization vorking to promote the economic coapetitiveness and quality of life in the greater Silicon Valley reqiont and WHEREAS, JVSV represents a public/private partnership of government and business; and WHEREAS, the initiatives and goals of ~TVSV, such as retaininq existing industry, supporting the growth of new businesses, and promoting cooperation between the public and private sector, complement Palo Alto's efforts in these areas; NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the city of Palo Alto does ORDAIN as follow&: SEctION 1. The sum of Fifteen Thousand Dollars ($15,000) is hereby appropriated to General Expenses in the. City MaJ"!::.qcr"ii Department, and the Budget Stabilization Reserve is correspondingly reduced. ~S~E~CT:",-:I~O~N=--;2~.. This transaction will reduce th@,Budge.t Stabilization Reserve. from $11,428,624 to $11,413,624 as of March 9:, 1994. SECTION 3. As specifi~d in Section 2.28.080(a) of the Palo Alto Municipal Code, a two-thirds vote of the City Council is required to adopt this ordinance. SECTION 4. The Council of the City of Palo Alto hereby finds that the enactment of this ordinance is not a project under the California Environmental Quality Act and, therefore, no environmen­ tal impact assessment is necessary.
