'-< •• - On November 20, 1989, council directed the Police Departm~nt to prepare quarterly reports that summarize citizens' complaints. Thia is an informational report ot all ~itizenst complaints received and investiqated by the Palo Alto Police Department during the second quarter of 19~J. No Council action is required. hckqrppp4 The followinq report is a sUlIUIlary of all citizens' complaint&­ received and investigatea by the Palo Alto Police Department during the second calendar quarter of 199J~ A total of 17 complaints vere received during this period (April - June 1993). TWelve investigations have been concluded (four cf 'Which are fr-o::a. the first quarter). Nine complaints are still outstandinq and will be inclUded in the third quaTte~ ~eport. As a matter of routine, staff attempts to identify other associated issues that aay not have been included in the initial complaint 4 Official corrective action (discipline., admonishment., training, policy review) occurred in all situations where a cO'aplaint WitS de-.d sustained.
