Recycling Program Award

This is an informational Report. No Council action is required.
The City of Palo Alto Recycling Program has received an award for
the 1993 "Outstanding Public Program" from the Am.!'":rican Societ.y for
Public Adminlst:t;-at.i..on (ASPA}, Greater Santa clara Valley Chapter.
ASPA. an association of public sector profess.ionals from Santa
Clara and San Mateo counties. holds an annual competition for
"Outstanding Public Prog.lam" which is open to all types of public
programs. The criteria used to select the award reCipient were:
population served. environmental impacts and social impacts of the
program. Other programs which vied for this year's award and
received "Honorable Mention" are: the county of Santa Clara Child
Support Collection Program, the City of San Carlos Cost Avoidance
Reserve Program and the COLmty of Santa Clara Household Haza~dous
Waste Program.
