Backarounc.
The Equiprr.ent Ma::l.age:T'.;;.nt Civision of ?u'olic WDrks manages the
cleaning and °o!ol3shing of City vehicles and equipment. at the
Municipal Service Center. The daily c1 eaning of etreet sweepers
and service trucks is perfoymed on a washpad using clean water to
r-emoV"e debris frort'. vehicles and equip:.ent. The ;.rater and debris
from the wash'oao flow into a drair. that connects to the. storm drain
and exits into the MataderCl C:r:--eek next to the MS-;:. An indoor
washbay that has hot water pressure and drains into the sanitary
sewer is used if vehicles or equipment. need degreas ing ,:'r deter-gent
t,·ashing. The :indoor washbay does :lot pretreat the cil, grease, or
detergent p=ior to enter ir.g the sanitary sewer.
