RESOLUTION MODIFYr~~ING RESTRICTIONS fOR P~ING ~S P AND R
Members of the Council:
llEPOR'I' Df BRIEF
~~e purpose of this report is to recommend that the Co~ncil adopt
the attached r~solution modifying parking restrictions in Parking
Lots P and R~ The modifications were previously approved by
Council and are in response to a request made from Ross stores.

At its meeting on october 25, 1993, the City Council agreed to
modify parking restrictions in Parking Lots P and R as follows:

Convert 5S permit spaces to 55 two
hour spaces
Convert 74
two-hour
spaces.

The C~~ncil directed staff to prepare the required resolution for
its approval. .'doption ot the resolution by the. Council will
permit the parking modifications to be completed in early April~
prior to the opening of Ross Stcres· new downtown store.
As directed by the Council, Premier Properties will {1) pay for all
the signing and strlping changes for the l!Iodifications to lots P
and R, and (2) pay for all stripil".q changes required for the
6ddition of up to five new spaces in lots P and R.
Minor operational improvements are categorically exe~pt under the
California Environmental Quality Act. No e~vi~onmental assessment
is necessary.

RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE cn·y OF PALO ALTO
AFPRCVING CHANGES TO PARKING RESTRICTIONS IN
PARKING LOTS P , R IN DOWNTOWN PALO ALTO
WHEREAS~ on October 25, ~993, the City Council agreed to
make parking restriction changes to Parkins Lota P & Rj and
WHE'REAS, the changes include conver'ting 55 permit spaces to
5S two-hour spaces in Lot P and converting 74 two-hour spaces to 36
two-hour spaces and 38 permit spaces in Lot R; and
WHEREM, purs\.:.ant to Palo Alto Mun~cipal Code section
10.44.010, City Council shall by ordinance or resolution establish
parking restrictions as may be necessary.
NOW THRRBFORB; the City Council of the City of P~lo Alto
does hereby RESOLVE as follows:
SBCTION ,. The Council hereby establishes the following
restrictions on Parking Lots P and R~
.1. !~ot P: all parking spaces in Lot P s:r.all be two-
hour ppaces, as shown on B~~ibit -A-; attached hereto and
incorporated herein by reference.
:2. Lot R: 36 parking spaces in Let R. shall be two-hour
spac~s, and 38 parking spaces shall be permit spaces, as shown on
Exhibit: -A·.
S:l!':~ION 2 ~ The Council finds that parking restriction
changes are categorically e.x.empt under the california Environmental
Quality Act a~d no environmental assessment is necessary.
