At their rneeting on October ~7, 1992. the fina.nce CmTimittee voted
to retain matters cegdrding the Cubbecley CO.'Tlrr:ul"'Jity Center in
Cornmittee~ This report provides further inforrnatieon about the
fUnd-raiser position for Cubberley. No action is required.
Discussion
Staff indicated to Council in the report dated october 22, 1992,
(CMR:43B:92) that it -.. as in the pro-.::es3 of securing a contract
fund-raiser for the Cubberley ConT(.uni ty CElnter. }.rrangements have
been roade with Lainey Sainte-Marie to fill t.his position. Lainey
is enthusiastica.lly committed to the developmer.t of Cubber-ley dS a
cOID.'Tf'Iunitl' center and has bsen active at Cubberley and in the
community for many years. She is an experienced fund-rais€t"; and,
as one of the artists work i ng at C'ubberley. she is strongly
commi tted to tr.e success of the Center.
Lainey has already begun planning for the first fund-raising E~ent
at CUbberley -'3 "'Come ".5 You '{.1ere or \-;isn tel...: Had Been" party.
which is scheduled for June 11th thLs year. She \.dll be present at
the Finance COr:ir,)ittee meeting to disc\2$$ this event \r,Iith you and to

connection ~ith Cubberley.
7. A fast-moving videotape showing the fun-filled, varied ' .. 'ork
being done at Cubberley and ho~ it benefits the community.
