By Resolution Number 7152 adopted on November 2, 1992, the Council
decJ.ared weeds to be a nUl.sance, and ordered the abate'rnent of that.
nuisance as stated in Chapter 8~08 of the Palo Alto Municipal Cod~. The
resolution provided for the h&a~ing date of December 14, 1992, regardi~9
objections to the proposed, destruction or the removal of these weeds, and
for interested property owners and ~embers of the p~blic to be notified
of the hearing.
Backgrounc1
The County Fire Marshal's Orfic~ administers the contract for abatement
of weeds within the city of Pa~o Alto, Upon notification of action by
the city Council, the Fire Marshal has taken the proper steps to notify
each property oY~er by mail of the contemplated ~eed abate~ent action on
respective properties and to post in the Council Chambers a list of the
propertie.s affected~ The County Fire Marshal has furnished copies of the
property listinq to the City Clerk and the City Fir~ Marshal.
At this public hearinq, property OlJrlers may appear and object to the
proposed 'Weed destruction or remeval. After the hearin.g and
consideration cf the objections, the Council may allow or overrule any or
all objections. If objections are overruled, the Council is deemed to
have acquired jurisdiction to proceedi and the County will be asked to
perform the work of destruction and removal of ~eeds.

RESOLUTION NO.
RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
()RDER.ING-WEED NUISANCE ABATED
WHEREAS. this Council did on November 2; 1992~ adept it~
Resolution No. 7152 declaring weeds to be a nuisa~cc and setting
December 14, 1992, at 7:00 p.m.; in tJ1.e Civic Center as the time
and place for a hearing of objections to the proposed destr~ction
or removal of weedsj and
wlffiREAS. in accordance with said Resolution, notice of such
hearing was given in the mar~er provided by la~1 as appears from
the affidavits on file in the Office of the City Clerk; and
WHEREAS, ______ interested persons appeared or filed
written objections against said proceedings ~r any part thereof,
all persons desiring to be heard were given an opportunity to be
heard, and all matters and things pertaining to said weed abatem~nt

NOW, THEREFORE~ the Council of the City of Palo ~to does

SBCTIQ~~. The City Council, by adoption of the aforesaid
Resolution No. 7152, adopted a Negative Declaration for this
project. No further environmental assessment is required.
