This report recommer.ds that Council award a three-year contr~ct to
United states Elevstor Corporation in the amount of $11,520 tor
year one, $12,096 for year two, and $12.696 for year three, for
elevator maintenance Ctnd repair services at the Civic Center4
Funds for year one of the contract have been appropriated in the FY
1992-93 Puhlic Works Facilities Management Division operating
budget. Funds for year two of the contract have been approved -ir,
concept" in the FY ~993-94 operating budget. Year three of the
contract is contingent upon Council approval of the FY 1994-95
Facilities Ka~aqement Division operating budget.
Discussion
The cu~ent contract for elevator maintenance and repair services
at the civic Center expires on December 31, 1992. Bids were
received from three qualified contractors as shown on the attached
sWlUllary~ The enqineer's estimate for this project is $15,000
yearly. Statf recommends that the bid of $11,520 for year one,
$12,096 tor year two, and $12,696 for year three submitted by
United States Elevator Corporation be determined by Council to be
the lowest responsible bid and that the contract be awarded
accordinqly.
Recommendations
Staff recommends that Council:
1. Approve and authorize the Mayor to execute the attached
maintenance contract with u~ited states Elevator corporation
in the amount of $11,5:20 for yea_r one, $12,096 tor year t .. ~o,
and $12,696 for year three for elevator maintenance and repair
services at the Civic Center.
2. Authorize the City Manag~r or his/her designee to negotiate
and execute one or more change orders to the maintenance
contract 'With United States Elevator Corporation the total
