Report in Brief
This report requests that Council approve a contract renewal with
Raymond J. Bragato, Inc. for asphalt paving Contract NOt 82024783
in FY 92-9] for an amOUJ'lt ot $26,300.00. staff 'Will return to
council next year ror an e~ension of t.~e contract in an amount of
$28,400, when the FY 93-94 budget is approved. Funds for this
year's contract are available in the FY 92-93 Cas and water Capital
Improvement Program Budqets4
Bapkground
Staff requested quotes in 1991 for asphalt paving on gas and ~ater
mains replaced and repai~ed by City operations crews. Quotes were
requested for FY 1991-92, FY 1992-~3 and FY 1993-94. Contract
extensions would be made based on approved fundinq for each fiscal
year and the contractor's performance during the previous fiscal
year.
A contract with Raymond J~ Braqato Inc~ was awarded on August 20,
1991, with the option to renew tor the second and tr,ird years4 The
contract was not submitted at that time to the city Council for
approval for FY 91-92 since the contract amount was $25,000.00 o~
less and within the City Manager's approved a~thority. Durinq FY
91-92, the contractor proved to be very prvfessional in his work
and staff is satisfied with the services performed.

Braqato, Inc. the v~lue of which change oraer& shall not
exceed $2,630.00 for FY 92-93.

required to pave approximately 17,000 square feet of pavement or
approximately 300 tons ot asphalt concrete, at various locations
within the City.
The contractor shall meet the followlnq conditions:
1. This work consists ot utility trench Asphalt Concrete Surface.
2.
Restoration at various locations within the city of Palo Alto.,
santa Clara county, california. Asphalt concrete (type B,1/2
inch), Tack Coat and Fog Seal shall conform to the
requirements of Section 39 and 92 of ~e state ot california
Standard Specifications, January 1988 Edition.
