This report reo,uests City Council i:lpproval of adding an addTtional member to
the C<lmprehensive Plan Advisory Committee-to represent He Palo Alto 'unified
School District.
Background
On October 19~ 1992, the City Council approved t~e formation of i ~6-member
Comprehensive Plan AdvisQ!""), Committee, 28 of "hom wou1d be selected by the
City Council to represent the entire <o,,"unity (CMR:456:9l of lO/15/n). The
t'ema;n1ng 8 members would consist of 3 members from the Flanning Corrmission
and 1 member from each of the City's five standing advisory boards {i.e., the
Architectural Re¥iew Board, the Human Relations Commission, the Historic
ResourCH Board. the public Art Commission, a"d the Utilities Ad>w-is<lry
Corrrnissi on).
On December 14, ]992, Mayor Fazzino announced the appointments to the Advisory
Connittee. In taking this action, the City Council indicated that it wisl'1ed
to add a 37th Advisory Committee member to re~resent the Palo Alto Unified
~hool District.
