This is an inform~tional report and does not require Council action. In
accordance with Cable Cooperative (Cable Co-op) Restated Franchise
Agreement Section 11.4~ other Reports, they have submitted written
~otice of intent to increase the Basic Cable Rate, effective January 1,
1~93, in the amount of 5.9 percent for a new ~onthly rate of $26.95.
Cable Co-op has submitted the attached letter to the City of Palo Alto
in compliance with the Restated Franchise Agreement.
The city does not hav3 regulatory control over r-ate increases, but Cable
Co-op is required tG notice the City of any intent to increase rates.

Dear Oianah,
Last night the Cable Co-op Board of Directors approved a
price increases effective January 1, 1993, in the amount
of 5.9%1 of $26.95 per month. The letter whi~h ~ill be
included in subscriber billing is:

After careful cansideration l Cable
Co-oP's Board of Directors decid~d to
change our Basic rate. Effective
January 1, 1993, the new price for
Basic service 'Will increase by 5.9% to
$26.95.
In these times of rising costs and
changing regul',·.ions, Basic cable is
still the best value for entertainment,
e.ducation and info:nnation.
