Members of the Council:
This is an informational report. No council action is requested.
Attached is a brief summary cf th~ City's e.fforts this year
relating to the status of pending state and federal legislation.
These actions are based on existing legislative positions adopted
by the Council.
Sta~f is monitoring other bills Which have the potential to have an
impact on the City and its operations. These ~ill be included in
future status reports as this legislative session continues.
Staff has also been closely monitoring the progress (or lacK
thereof) in Sacramento toward enacting a state budget. The League
of California Cities provides daily reports via FAX or computer
related to the ..... arious pro~osals put forth. The Mayor joined with
all other Santa Clara county mayors in a letter to Governor Wilson
opPOsing budget proposals ~hich ~ould further deplete city
revenues.
