No Co~ncil action is required; unless these guidelines fail to capture council's intent, in which case, further direction from Council should be provided. BACKGROUND At its regular meeting on Au~~st ~S, 1991, the Council discussed a proposal by Council Members KIlis:!> and Anderson to hold a p".J.bl ic hearinq on transportation issues for northern Santa Clara COlJ.nty. 'l'he discussion concluded \With the passage of a motion directing staff to work with the Santa Clara County Transportation Agency to: 14 Arrange a public meeting, 2~ In the northern part of Santa Clara County, 3. A desire for this c::eeting to include all ncrth county cities; not just Palo Alto; C. A desire to have the meeting be a time of information sharing, with opportunity for people to speak, ask questiol".s, and receive responses; rather than a formal public hearing where testimony is received, but no dialog1.:e occurs: d. A desire that this event be arra~qed by the County, rather than the City; ~ith Falo Alto providing reasonable assistance, if needed, to see that the meeting occurs; and e. The objective is to ...
