Attached is an update of actions taken by the City in response to legislation that is pending in Sacramento, and washington D.C. These actions are based on legislative positions adopted by tr:e council. The. State Legislature operates on a scheciule. that includes the following deadlines for bills that are pending: May S May 15 May 22 May 29 June 1 Last day tor policy committees to report non-fiscal bills to the Floor~ Last day for policy committees to meet prior to June 1. Last day tor Fiscal committees to report bills to the floor. No committee should meet prioL to June 1. Last day for Assembly to pass Assembly Bills or Senate to pass Senate Bills. committee meetings may resume. staff continues to monitor a nunber of other bills ~hich could have an impact on municipal operations. These will be included in upcoming status reports as the legislative session continues.
