The Metropolitan Transportation O>mmiSSKlP has allocated an additional $4,139 in 1991J.91
Transportation Development Act grant funds to Palo Alto for the Project Mobility program.
This report =mmends that Council app<O\'C the attached Budget Amendment Ordinance
to accepc the additional gran! monies for Project Mobility transportation services for the
CUlTent fiscal year.
In June 1990, Palo Alto received an iDltial grant 0( SI38,260 in Transportation Development
Act (IDA) funds for Project Mobility services in 1991J.91. In January, the Metropolitan
TIlUISportation Commission (MTC) notified the Santa Oara County Paratransit Coordinating
Council (PCC) of a surplus of IDA funds for the current fiscal year which could be
allocated to the IDA claimants. Palo Alto', share of the excess funds is S4,139. Staff
submitted Ibe required documents to claim Ibese funds on Marcb 8, 1991; Ibe additional
allocation was approved by the MTe on April 4, 1991.
The attacbed Budget Amendment Ordinance provides for Ibe receipt of the .. grant monies
and an increase in appropriations within the Transportation Division budget foc Project
Mobility taxi and van contract expenses. These funds bave been programmed into Ibe
Project Mobility budget and are reflected in the level of transportation services being offered
to Project MOOiIity riden during the final quarter of the year.

ORDINANCE OF nu: COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
AMENDING THE BUDGET FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1990-91 TO PROVIDE
AN ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION FOR PROJECT MOBILI'I'Y lUll) TO PROVIDE
FOR RECEIPT or ADDIrIONAL GRANT FONDS FROII THE METROPOLITAN
TRANSPORTATION COMIIISSION
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Section 12 of Article
III of the Charter of the City of Palo Alto# the Council on June
18, 1990 did adopt a budget for fiscal year 1990-91; and
~, the Project lIobility Program provides valuable
services to Palo Alto'. elderly and disabled residents; and
WHEREAS, the Ketropolitan Transportation Commission has
notified the City that additional grant funds are available for
Palo Alto's Project lIobility Program;
.NOW, T'HEREPORE, the council of the City of Palo Alto does
ORDAIN as follows:
SECTION 1 a The. sum of Four Thousand One Hundred. 'Thirty Nine
Dollars ($4,~39) i. hereby appropriated to General Expenses in the
Transportation Services Activity of the Transportation Division of
the Planninq Dlftp.artJlent. Grant Revenue is correspondingly
increaSed.
SECTIQN 2. This tr~nsact1on will have no impact on reserves.
SECTION J. Tbe Council of the City of Palo Alto hereby finds
that the enactment of this ordin~nce is not a project under the
California Environmental Quality Act and .. the.refore .. no environmen
tal tmpact assessment is necessary.
