Greer Park Skateboard Facility
Members of the council:
This is an informational item and no Council action is required.
staff has just become aware of the existence of a state law which
states.. -No operator of a skateboard park shall permit any person
to ride a skateboard therein, unless such person is wearing a
helmet, elbowpads, and kneepads.-
The city Attorney's Office is researching this law to determine how
it applies to cities. In the meantime, new signs will be posted to
reflect the requirements of this law, and staff ~i11 be assigned to
enforce thell. Staff will return to Council "With additional
information at the time of the discussion or the skateboard
facility, which is on the Council Agenda for Hay 28, 1991.
