Master Plan for COmmunity Center Reuse of the CUbberley High School

Report in Brief:
This report transmits a sWDJD.ary of the CubberlE'·Y Master Plan
projects, indicating which are recommended by staff and which are
recommended by the Planning commission and the Architectural Review
Board.
piscussion:
Recommendations from the Planning Commission and the ARB are the
same. Both have recommended Council approval of an amended ver$ion
of the: First Phase Implementation of the Master Plan, which
includes the following projects: code and condition repai.cs of all
structures;-renovation of buildiIl9s E,F,U,L for art and dance
studio space; renovation of Gyms A.B; interior repairs for all
remaining structures; realigning the existing parking and
circulation patterns and resurfacing the parking lots; realigning
and renovating the athletic field and adding landsoaping within the
building area; providing a new restroom/storage facility in the
at..detic field area 1 and providing new theatre lobby and restroom.
staff is recommendinq Council approval of the entire Master Plan,
which includ.es all of the projects recommend.ed by the Planning
commission and the ARB, plus the following: renovation of the
covered walkways, the pavilion and the rest of the work in
buildings E,F,O,Vl tannis court improvements; providing a ne~ 50
meter swimming pool: expansion o~ the Multipurpose Room;
construction of a new gymnasium; redoing the central courtyard;
adding some square footage to tbe L wing; and construction of a
new two-story classroom structure adjacent to the central courtyard
area~

Approval of the Master Plan does not necessarily mean that allot
the $~B,664,000 in ~crk will be done; work vill not be undertaken
until t.~e necessary funds are available.
