REPORT IN BRIEF
Inc'uded in the Council packet is CMR:11492, which includt;s a request by
(olTJJllmity Housing, Inc. (CHI, lnc.J for an extension to the Council-adopted time
limit on the securing of outside funding for ttle proposed senior ho~s1ng project
at 330 Everett Street to be known as Lytton Gardens IV.
Staff has been informed that (Hf, Inc. has apparent,y received federal Housing
and Urban Development (HUD) Section 202 funding for tne project. Official
written notincation is e.xpected prior to March 30, 1992, It is anticipated that
CHI, Inc. wi" request withdrawal of the e.xtension request. .
It is not known now the amount of HUD 202 f~nding ~ill impact the project's need
for non-fEdera.l funds and th€ need for the projec~ to demonstrate "local
financial assistance,-At this time, CHI, Inc. has appl~ed for 5157,530 of 1992-
93 Community Development Block Grant (C~BG) funds. City staff continues to ha~e
significant conter~s regarding use of City hous~ng mitigation funds for this
project.
If the applicant has received Section 202 funding, Section 5 of OrdinancE 4053
(attached to CMR:170:92)~ specifies tnat Ordinance ~053 .",.il1 take effect
March 30, 1992 ar.d the 31-day appeal period ~ould begin at that time. No fUrther
Council action would be required.
