This is an informational report, and no Council action is required.
Because of the construction ~ork to earthquake proof the Police
Wing, there is a temporary loss of 154 permit parking spaces for up
to a maximum of six :months. Ways have been found t~ provide
parking for that nUlllber of cars to be parked elsewhere in the.
downtown area. All Cit}'-owned vehicles (14 pool cars a:1d 46
assiqned cars) will he parked at the Webster-Cowper Garage. One
hundred employees W'ho drive their own vehicles .... ill be parking
their cars at the WebstEr-Cowper Garage, on the Hal iday Inn lot and
in other areas being investigated.
As work proceeds an~ spaces become available, employees will be
able to ~ove City vehicles and their own cars back into the Civic
Center Garage.
