Pool Maintenance at Rinconada Pool Facility -Rejection of Bid

This report recommends that Council reject the bid received from
Boyett Water Works for pool equipment rnaint€nance at the Rinconada
Swimming Pool Facility.
Piscussion.
On November 26, 1991, bids for Rinco~ada Pool equipment mainten~nce
'Were solicited from eleven swh'tl-:ling pool I!1aintenance service
companies. C.n December 17, 1991 one bid in the amount of $119,624
for the contract term was received from Boyett Water Works. This
bid was over 50 percent higher than the Bui 1di:;-.::;, Maintenance
Supervisor's estimate (.If $70,000. After reviewing the bid for
these services, the Facilities Manage~ent Division has determined
this to be excessively high for the services required ~hich c~n be
accomplished by using in-house staff on a temporaTJ basis during
the current manufacturer's .arrantee period. During this time,
staff will evaluate the need for contract maintenance services.

Staff recommends that Council reject the only bid received on
December 17, 1991. for the pool equipnent rnaifltena.'1ce at. the
Rinc~nada S~imrning Pool Facility.
