This is an informational report regarding the status of noise
problems at S)~temix, Incorporated, located at 3400 west Bayshore
Road. No cou·ncil action is required.

On July 5, 1990, staff submitted a report (CMR:407:~) regarding
the status of an ongoing noise problem originating froli. a heat.
exchanqer unit. on the property of systeDix, Incorporated .. 3400
West B.}ys-bcre Road. As of July 23, the unit enclosure construc
tion project was nearly complete, and sound emissions had been
reouced to within legal limits (CMR:C'S:O).
on August 1, 1990, the project was finalized, and additional
, sound lIeter readiIl9s were taken.. ,Staff fou,nd th~t the noise from
the unit is nearly inaudible to the buman ear. and vas not even
sUfficIent enough eo produce a reading on the sound measuring
instrument. Residents living near Syste.ix~ Incorporated have
been contact.ed: and they also confirmed that the noise has been
eli.inated. Staff believes that the problem has been success
fully resolved and anticipates no further follow-up.
