As a part of!be Cable Franchlse issued in March 1986. Ibe City Council designated MP AC
as Ibe Community Access Organization 10 assist !be joint powers in bringing community
programming I<> Ibe servi;:e area In September 1989. MPAC began cablecasting!be City
of Palo Alto Council Meetings and in December 1989 began cablecasting Ibe City of Palo
Alto Planning Commission meetings.
In !be past, !be City of. Palo Alto cabluasting c""ered only City Council and P1ar~ng
Commission meetings beld in Ibe Council Chambers. The proposed contract will c""er City
Council, City Council Committee (Fmance and Public Works, Policy and Procedures), and
. Planning Commission meetings beld in !be CounciI C<lnference Room as defined in Exhibit
A of Ibe contract.
