Fire Training Exercises
This is an info.rmational report and 00 Council action is required.
The. Palo Alto Fire Deparblent vas 9iven permission by the owners of
the properties listed below to conduct traininq exercises in
vacated single family dwellings located at J2S~ 327~ 335 Everett
street~ and 332.. 340,. 346 Bryant Court.. Tbe training is to
include simulated search and rescue.. utilization of positive
pressure. ventilation, forcing entry into locked structures, laMer
and fire hose placement, equipment placement .. and an actual live
interior burning which viiI not exceed the roomes) of origin.
A donated residential sprinkler systell will be installed to mOrlitor
and verIfy e.ffectiveness during actual controlled fire burning.
The live inter!or burning of the structure ~ill p~ovide recruits

informing them of our intentions. We r2ceived several calls
requestinq additional information and the reactions .. ere favorable a

t.entatively scheduled for July II .. starting at approximately 1:),: 0'0
a.a. The date is tentative until 24 hours before the scheduled
event, in keeping with the Bay Area Air Qual ity Management District
requirements. All those interested are encouraged to attend.
