( ORDINANCE NO. 237 6 ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALo ALTO AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 1324, THE ZONING ORDINANCE, BY AMENDING ARTICLES 13 AND 14 TO PROTECT R-1 AND R-DUP-DISTRICTS ADJACENT TO M-1 OR M-2 DISTRICTS ' The council of the City of Palo Al to does OP.DAIN as follows: SECTION 1. That subsection (d) be added to Section 13. 02 of Ordinance' No. 1324, the Zoning Ordinance, to read as follows: It (d) ·, uses of land and buildinqs within five hundred feet of any--R~1 -or-R-..o\ip--Disfrfct-sli.111 be restricted to tiiose----- th.at -are riot or will not-be offensive by reason of -the emission of dust, gas,·_ smoke, noise; , fwnes, odors, vibrations or night illumination1 or otherwise; and provided 'further that prior 'to t_he issuance of a building permit the Building Official may ·req\lire evidence that ade<;_uate controls, measures, or devices have been pro­ vided to insure and protect the public interest, health, comfort, convenience, safety, and general welfare from such nuisances." · SECTION 2. That Section 13.16 be added to Ordinance No. 1324, the Zoning Ordinance, to read as follows: '.' 13 .16 . Floor Area Ratio: -~-~~~~~~~- The gross floor area above g·round of any structure, exclusive of floor area designed for and,devoted ex:­ clusively to·off-street parking, shall not exceed the area of the lot."
