ORDINANCf; OF THE COUNCIL OF TH~ CITY OF PALO ALTO
AMENDING SECTION 20~04 _QF THE PALO _AL'l'O "1.JNICIPAL
CODE TO .PROHIBIT L"EAVING~-FREE __ SAMPLES_ OR .. UNORDERED _
MERCHANDISE UPON ANY PRIVATE PRE)llSE EXCEPT AS PROVIDED
The Council of the City of Palo Alto does ORDAIN as
follows:
SECTION 1. Section 20-~ 04 of the Palo-Alto Municipal
Code (presently entitled "Patent Medicines, Drugs, etc.-Left
in Yards'') is amended to read as follows:
"SEC; 20. 04 ---FREE-SAMPLES ANii -MERCHANDlSE ON PRIVATE --PREfltls!s. -
No-person shall .throw, deposit, or leave upon
any premises any free sample of any proquct or any
unordered merchandise of any·kind, except that such
samples or merchandise may be placed into the hands
of a person who re-~1<les on such premises and i$ 18
years of age or olcler. ,'.fbe-practice of-throwing, de
positing, or leaving upon any premises any such free
samples or unordered merchandise-is hereby declared
to be a public nuisance."
SEC'fION 2. Thi.!l_ ordinance shall become effective upon
