ORDINANCE NO. 2325
ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF 'lllE CITY OF PALO ALTO
EXTENDING THE PROVISIONS OF ORDINANCE 2321 RELATING
TO SUSPENDING ISSUANCE OF CERTA!N BUILDING PERMITS
AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY
WHEREAS, the City Council of the. City of Palo Alto did
adopt an-eme&gency ordinance,-being Or<~inf;~1ce No. 2321 effective
. .
October 24, 1966, which provided that no building permits shall
be issued for the construction of new structures or for the
making of any major improvements on any structure on any
property located within certain areas described.in that Ordin-
ance; ·and
Wt.REAS, the Planning Comnission of· the City ·of Pr.:o Alto
held a puhlic hearing on October 26, 1966 which was c~ntinued
':-,to December 14, 1966 to consider whether any changes in zoning
should be made to property which is the subje.ct of Ordinance
No. 2321; and
WHEREAS, on December 14, 1966, the Planning Commission did
.submit to the Council certain recammended changes to .the zoning
of the aforementioned property.which are now before the City
·.•
Council for consideration; and
_ WHEREAS,· r.art of said. recommendation in~ludes --the use of the

C-1 District, and the Cou~c.il has before it a proposed ordinance -' ; . . ~ .

which would r'equire a use permit for certain uses. within the

the proviaions of Ordinance No. 2321 until auch time as the
aforementioned proposed ordinance now under consideration
becomes effective.
NOW, THEREFORE~ the· Council of the City of Palo Alto does
ORDAIN as follows:

SECTION l. Section 2 of Ordinance No. 2321 is hereby
extended to April 30, 1967, or until the effective date of the
aforementioned proposed ordinance, whichever occurs · flrst·.
SECTION 2. Because of the facts set forth in the preamble.
of this ordinance and in order to protect the public safety,
health and welfare, the Council does declare that this is a

temporary emergency ordinance and shail take effect immediately
upon its passage.
Thia ordinance was introduced at a regular meeting .of the
Council of the City of Palo Alto on January 3, · l 9b7 ·"""'-------'
1967, and was pae1ed by a four· fifths vote of all the Councilmen•
?resent at the meeting as follows:
